There’s No Need to Worry Through the darkness of this life, I travel every day; But there’s no need to worry, For I have found “The Way. ” And I know He will guide me, Wherever I must go, So there’s no need to worry, God’s word has told me so. And there’s no need to worry, Even in the darkest night, For I’ll keep looking forward, And I will see His light. And He will lead me down the road, As narrow as it is, But still no need to worry, Because the road is His. So why waste any time at all, Not a minute, hour, or day, When there’s no need to worry, ”Once you have found “The Way. Submitted from Lois LawsonGeorge A. Hellard Jr.

LIFE REFLECTION OF Mr. Levert Lawson

Levert Lawson was born April 24, 1940 to Corrine and Elijah Lawson, Jr. in Mobile, Alabama.  “Bro”, as he was affectionately called by his siblings, was the second of eight children born to that union.  Levert, much like his seven siblings, grew up in a christian home and was introduced to Christ at an early age. As a child he attended both Little Rock AME Zion church (for Sunday School) in Fernland and Freewater Baptist church (for service) in Irvington, Alabama. Traveling between these two churches and attending the mid-week bible study at his grandparents is where he was taught the love of God.

He received his formal education in the Mobile County school system.  He first attended Dixon Elementary and later graduated from St. Elmo High School. Levert was a very intelligent man who enjoyed reading. Although he played football and ran track, his commitment to helping his father on the farm didn’t allow him time to enjoy the pleasures of  extracurricular activities. After high school, Levert Lawson briefly sought job opportunities in Florida and Mississippi. In 1963, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, and served in Germany for three years. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Detroit in 1966 and reenlisted in the Army Reserves for three more years. Levert, a decorated Army Combat Engineer and Sharpshooter, was honored with the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal, leaving a legacy of courage and dedication cherished by his comrades and family.

Levert was employed by Ford Motor Company for 37 years.  Being a man who enjoyed learning and a strong belief in education. Levert took his computer training and apprenticeship programs to the next level. He became a Skilled Tradesman, specializing in Welding Fixture Repair and Robotics. Levert was a man of many talents, he was co-owner of H & L Roofing, and Carol’s Beauty Supply. He was an avid gardener, who was jokingly told that he could “grow dirt”. He enjoyed playing ping-pong and pool. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. The greatest highlights of his life was spending time with his wife, children, grand, great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers.

In 1969, he was introduced to “the love of his life” Carolyn Crawford, and for the past decades they have spent time building a bond and family whose values were based on love and commitment to each other, the family and the community.

In the embrace of his devoted wife, cherished children, and his beloved "Best Friend" and brother Ervin, Levert journeyed through his life with unwavering grace and a heart full of positivity. Surrounded by love and family support, he found solace in the presence of his dear family. On a tranquil Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, Levert's earthly journey came to a close as God gently called him to His eternal embrace. Levert now resides in the loving arms of the Heavenly Father, where he will find eternal peace and joy, forevermore. May his spirit soar in the heavens, a beacon of light and love to guide those who cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by both parents Corine and Elijah Lawson, Jr., his brothers, Larry Cornelius Lawson, Hartford Eugene Lawson and sister, Faye Antrionette Lawson-Lumpkin.  He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memories: His wife Carolyn Lawson, four children Lynda Parham (Marcus), Tabita Regina Crawford, Saundra Elaine Crawford-Scott (d. Clary) and Patrick Crawford. 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
